Music Box Television has signed a distribution agreement with AzamTV, one of the leading pay-TV operators in East Africa, marking the company’s expansion into the African market.
Under the agreement, two channels, Music Box Hits and Music Box Dance, are now distributed across nine countries in East and Southern Africa: Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The channels are available via AzamTV’s multiple platforms, including IPTV, OTT and DTH satellite through Eutelsat 7C at 7° East.
With this launch, AzamTV subscribers become the first viewers in Africa to access Music Box’s curated music television offering in Full HD.
Music Box Hits focuses on current chart-toppers, global premieres and mainstream international repertoire, while Music Box Dance targets electronic music audiences with a mix of house, techno, trance and festival anthems. Both channels are based on editor-curated playlists and a seamless programming structure designed to deliver a continuous viewing experience.
The move represents a further step in Music Box Group’s international expansion strategy, extending its footprint beyond Europe into a fast-growing and increasingly competitive pay-TV market.
