Claro now expects to switch off 2G network by Feb-23

Claro Colombia has stated that the deactivation of its 2G network is now expected to conclude in February 2023. The new deadline represents a slight delay, with the telco initially intending to switch off the network by the end of December 2022.

During the last two years Claro says it has installed 4G LTE infrastructure in more than 420 rural towns in 23 departments, increasing its overall footprint to 1,098 municipalities across 32 departments. Going forward, the telco intends to cover a total of 1,348 locations with 4G within three years.
