AT&T customers continue to enjoy the fastest wireless speeds in the nation for the 6th quarter in a row. According to results from Speedtest® by Ookla®, AT&T is the fastest wireless network in the nation and the fastest wireless network for iPhones2. What’s more – we’ve held on to both titles now through all of 2019 and through the first half of 2020.
We continue to enhance our network for our customers so they can continue to enjoy the fastest network in the nation to connect to the things they love to do. Winning the fastest network in the nation is a testament to the investment we continue to make in our networks. Whether we are making enhancements to FirstNet— the nationwide public safety communications platform dedicated to America's first responders – or expanding our 5G reach, we are laying the foundation for the future of our networks to benefit our customers and communities across the country.
Over the past 5 years (2015-2019), AT&T invested more than $135 billion in our wireless and wireline networks, including capital investments and acquisition of wireless spectrum and operations. Over this same period, we invested more in the United States than any other public company.
In addition, we’re building 5G on America’s Best Wireless Network according to America’s biggest test.3 AT&T 5G is now available in 355 markets across the country, covering 179 million people with plans to be nationwide this summer.
