Ooredoo Maldives sponsors Dhivehi Premier League

Ooredoo Maldives has announced that the company will be sponsoring the recently rebranded Dhivehi Premier League by Football Association of Maldives for the year 2015.
Vikram Sinha, CEO of Ooredoo Maldives and Mohamed Shaveed, Chairman of Football Association of Maldives normalisation committee, signed the exclusive partnership agreement in the presence of Ooredoo Maldives board member, Mohammed Saleh H. Al-Marri, which will run through to 2015.

With this partnership, Ooredoo logo will appear on the new Dhivehi Premier League logo and on the sleeves of players training kits, and at the National Stadium. The Dhivehi Premier League will also be renamed the "Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League".

Ooredoo Maldives CEO, Vikram Sinha said: "Football brings people together and we have found a great sponsorship partner in FAM. With FAM we can bring Maldivian football to the next level, while developing local footballers and passionately connected to their fans.
We believe that young people should be given a full range of opportunities, so that they can realise their dreams. We look forward to work with partners such as FAM, because this provides us with a strong connection to football fans across the Maldives."

Ooredoo Maldives Board member, Mohammed Saleh H. Al-Marri also added: "Ooredoo is a community-focused brand and we are committed to bringing our promise of human growth to our customers across the country. And with Ooredoo's on-going international partnerships in place with the Leo Messi Foundation and Paris Saint-Germain will bring life changing initiatives to our Maldivian customers."

Mohamed Shaveed, Chairman of FAM normalisation committee said: "FAM will run the extra mile to overcome the greatest challenge it has forced so far. Today we are proud nation with a big heart to reach millions of fans in Asia and the rest of the world. However, I never doubted that this feat could be achieved and gratitude to all who are a part or embarking on a new chapter of football in this Maldives."

Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League is scheduled to kick off this April with 8 Clubs at Maldives National Stadium.
