Dubai's DEWA signs technology deals with Huawei, Nozomi and Syskey

DEWA signed three technology agreements with Huawei, Nozomi Networks and Syskey Softlabs during the 28th WETEX exhibition, covering communications infrastructure, digital substations, cyber security and operational technology (OT) monitoring. WETEX 2026 ran in Dubai from 20 to 22 October; the authority did not give the signing dates.

DEWA agreements signed through Moro Hub

Hussain Lootah, Executive Vice President of Transmission Power, signed for the authority, with Managing Director and CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer present. The agreements were concluded through Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA. Financial terms and contract lengths were not disclosed.

Huawei covers networks and digital substations

The Huawei agreement covers hardware, software and support services across ICT infrastructure, networks, data centres, digital substations and cyber security. It also covers support for existing routers, communications equipment, servers, switches and software, plus maintenance, training, workshops and joint testing of emerging technologies.

Nozomi sets up central licence management

Under the Nozomi agreement, cyber security licences will be managed through the Nozomi Vantage platform, which allows centralised licence management and simpler renewals. The platform also gives a single view of assets and risks, supported by AI-driven analytics. Nozomi has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric since the Japanese group completed its acquisition on 28 January 2026.

DEWA links the deals to asset and risk management

Al Tayer said the agreements “will help advance our capabilities in the proactive management of assets and risks”.

He said in June that the utility counters around 3,000 cyberattacks a day.

Syskey covers OT logs and monitoring

The Syskey Softlabs agreement covers OT system log management, asset performance monitoring, network monitoring and risk management, with a unified platform for managing OT applications and assets. It includes support and maintenance, security updates, training, technical consultancy, early access to new features and proof-of-value trials.
