Catton Village Hall in East Yorkshire has been equipped with full fibre broadband.
Since 1953, when the then Lord Leconfield gave the old school in Low Catton to the villagers, it has been at the heart of Low and High Catton for nearly 75 years.
With support from Quickline, a broadband provider, the current committee has modernised the facility by installing high-speed Wi-Fi.
This upgrade allows event organisers to access online resources, stream digital media, and facilitates cashless payments through card readers or smartphone apps.
The new technology is expected to make the hall more appealing to event organisers, ultimately benefiting the broader community.
The hall hosts regular events such as French lessons, keep fit classes, Pilates, choir practices, and table tennis.
Upcoming events include children's birthday parties, resuscitation instruction, and a talk on the history and development of High and Low Catton.
