Mobile operator Djezzy announced in a statement the launch of a videoconferencing application locally developed in partnership with Algerian startup BortoCall, designed for corporate use.
Named "Confy," this solution enables the organization of remote meetings accommodating up to 300 participants. It integrates several features tailored for professional use, including screen sharing, collaborative annotation, and meeting recording, with video quality that adapts to connection conditions.
The new application offers "plans tailored to the needs and size of organizations" and features an administration portal enabling IT managers to manage users, access rights, and permissions according to structure-specific regulations, the statement specified.
Djezzy emphasizes that "data protection is at the heart of this solution," noting that "Confy" relies on "end-to-end encryption and an architecture designed to safeguard communication privacy."
Data flows and processing linked to its use are hosted in Algeria on Djezzy's sovereign cloud infrastructure, thereby providing organizations with "an environment tailored to their requirements for data protection and communication control."
To explore this solution and view available plans, interested companies, public administrations, and institutions are invited to visit the Djezzy Cloud Marketplace.
The launch of this application comes after the deployment in early October of "Relay," a professional messaging and collaboration tool, marking "a new milestone in promoting the development of local technological solutions."
Quoted in the statement, BortoCall co-founders Bilal Sefsaf and Mohamed Amine Smida indicated that the "Confy" solution was "the result of a shared conviction: Algerian businesses and institutions deserve communication tools designed to meet their needs, developed in Algeria, and enabling them to maintain control over their data."
For his part, the Director General of Djezzy, Boumediene Senouci, stated that the launch of this application "illustrates the mobile operator's decision to innovate by placing trust in young Algerian talent and forming partnerships that provide them with the means to transform their skills into concrete solutions."
