Disney+ to launch advertising tier in Poland

Disney+ will introduce an advertising-supported subscription in Poland in November, extending the streaming service’s European advertising footprint into another Central and Eastern European market.

The new Standard with Ads package will sit alongside the existing Standard and Premium subscriptions. Disney has yet to announce pricing for the new tier or details of how its Polish advertising inventory will be sold.

“The introduction of an advertising-supported plan marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Disney+ in Poland,” said Kakhaber Abashidze, country manager and senior vice president Disney+ and Networks, The Walt Disney Company Central and Eastern Europe.

“Our customers will have greater choice, while Polish advertisers will for the first time be able to reach the highly engaged audience of our premium streaming service.”

Disney currently charges PLN34.99 per month for Standard and PLN59.99 for Premium in Poland.

The company launched advertising on Disney+ in EMEA in 2023 and says the option has subsequently expanded to 15 European markets.

The Polish launch comes as streaming platforms increasingly turn to advertising to supplement subscription revenues. HBO Max and SkyShowtime already offer advertising-supported packages in Poland, while Netflix is expected to introduce its Polish advertising tier in 2027.

Disney has been expanding the technology underpinning its European advertising business, including moving EMEA campaigns onto the Disney Ad Server and developing programmatic access through its Disney Real-Time Ad Exchange.

The November launch will give advertisers access to Disney+ inventory in Poland for the first time.
