The Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) took part by videoconference in the 32nd meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) committee of undersecretaries of posts and telecommunications. The Kuwaiti delegation was led by CITRA Chairman Khaled Al-Zamel.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday, CITRA said its participation was part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination with GCC member states' posts and telecommunications bodies. It said the meeting discussed a number of topics and recommendations in a way that supports joint Gulf action and serves the shared interests of GCC states.
CITRA said the participation of both the authority and the Ministry of Transport showed the importance of joining up national efforts and coordinating among the bodies involved. The aim, it said, is to support Gulf work and draw on shared expertise and experience to develop the postal sector.
The authority noted that such meetings are part of continuing dialogue and coordination among GCC states on shared priorities, cooperation and keeping pace with developments in the two sectors. The delegation also included Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport Meshaal Al-Zaid and Head of the Public Relations Department Ahmad Al-Hoseini.
