Three Startups Secure USD 75K in Bahrain’s Women in Tech Accelerator

Three women-led startups in Bahrain have secured a combined USD 75 thousand in equity-free funding. Thus, giving them capital and incubation support as they work to scale their technology-enabled businesses.

Vivid Algorithms, Maraj and Jaras received equity-free grants and three months of incubation support. This is after completing the seventh cohort of the Women in Tech Bahrain programme.

Why You Should Care

The funding gives the three startups access to non-dilutive capital at an early stage, while the programme’s broader support is designed to help founders strengthen their business models, prepare for investment and build the networks needed for growth.

For Bahrain’s startup ecosystem, the seventh cohort also adds to a longer-running pipeline of women-led technology businesses receiving structured support.

The Details

The seventh cohort of the Women in Tech Bahrain programme concluded at a Demo Day in Manama, where three startups received grants:

Vivid Algorithms, founded by Marwa Hesham, received the first prize of USD 35 thousand.

Maraj, founded by Latifa Al Khayat, received USD 25 thousand for second place.

Jaras, founded by Walaa Aloraibi, received USD 15 thousand for third place.

The winners will also receive three months of incubation support.

The programme was run by Standard Chartered Foundation in partnership with Bahrain FinTech Bay and Village Capital. It also saw support from UNIDO and Innovate for Bahrain. Moreover, the programme is part of Standard Chartered Foundation’s global Women in Tech initiative.

This year’s cohort included 13 women entrepreneurs who received investment-readiness support, mentorship and guidance. Its focus was on business models, competitive positioning, scalability and funding strategies.

The Ripple

The programme’s latest cohort extends an existing support network for women building technology-enabled businesses in Bahrain. Beyond the grant funding, the combination of mentorship, incubation and investment-readiness support connects founders with ecosystem participants and potential funding pathways.

Bahrain FinTech Bay said the programme has seen founders progress from early-stage ideas toward businesses with customers, revenue and growing teams. The latest cohort therefore sits within a broader effort to develop technology entrepreneurship and diversify the country’s startup base.

What to Watch

The next stage for the three winners will be how they deploy the grant funding and use the three-month incubation period to develop their businesses. Their progress will provide a clearer indication of how the programme’s investment-readiness and mentorship support translates into commercial growth, further funding and team expansion.
