The Special Communication Organization (SCO) has launched a trial run of 5G services in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The SCO has activated 5G services at seven locations across Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, with the Director General of SCO inaugurating the services.
This remarkable initiative is being hailed as a milestone in the digital development of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The trial launch will provide the public with access to advanced mobile technology.
It was further announced that an additional 20 sites would be activated by December 2026, bringing the total number of sites to 27.
5G technology will create significant new opportunities across sectors such as tourism, education, healthcare, business, and public services. Following the inauguration, practical demonstrations of the 5G service were conducted at the headquarters in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Assessing user experiences and requirements through the 5G service will pave the way for further modern advancements.
