The Digital Regulation Academy (DRA) of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) held the “Enabling Innovative Digital Policies to Build Trusted, Inclusive, and Sustainable Digital Ecosystems” executive program, in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), on the sidelines of the World Telecommunication/ICT Policy Forum (WTPF-26) in the Bahamas.
The program aimed to strengthen the capabilities of leaders and policymakers in digital regulation and innovation, while reviewing the best global practices to bridge the digital divide worldwide.
Targeting executives, decision-makers, government and regulatory officials, with digital policy and regulation professionals from around the world, the program covered digital transformation and the ITU’s regulatory policy framework, evidence-based policymaking and regulatory impact assessment, as well as agile regulation and regulatory sandboxes for emerging technologies.
It also addressed AI governance and the regulation of next-generation technologies.
The program featured specialized sessions showcasing practical applications and case studies in agile regulation, AI governance, and regulatory frameworks that support innovation and investment.
It also included collaborative exercises based on real-world regulatory scenarios, enabling participants to apply the concepts and practices acquired during the program and develop digital policies and regulations.
The program is part of the DRA’s initiatives to build capabilities in public policy and digital regulation while promoting collaboration with international organizations to exchange expertise and global best practices, aiming to develop inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystems, advance regulatory innovation, and keep pace with the rapid transformations shaping the digital economy.
