The Port Authority of Santos (APS) has begun installing a fixed 5G network, a project that is part of the Porto de Santos Conecta agreement. The new infrastructure consists of a private network for the Port of Santos, designed to expand digital capacity and enable new solutions and services, contributing to the modernization of port operations.
The works will be carried out in various areas under the responsibility of APS, including the administrative buildings of the presidency complex and the port areas of the Valongo, Outeirinhos, and Estuario districts, on the right bank of the Port of Santos.
The entity noted that, during the development of the activities, occasional road closures, noise, and an increase in the circulation of equipment and vehicles may occur. According to the port authority, all actions will be carried out in accordance with safety standards and will be properly signposted.
APS advised users and workers in the affected areas to respect the signage and isolated areas, facilitate access for the teams responsible for the services, and communicate any needs or impacts related to the interventions.
The installation is possible thanks to a technical and financial cooperation agreement signed between APS and the Itaipú Technological Park Foundation (Itaipú Parquetec). This agreement provides for an investment of approximately USD 6,014,000 over three years to expand connectivity in the Port of Santos.
