Enea, FoxIO partner to strengthen cybersecurity threat detection

Enea, a global provider of telecom and cybersecurity software, and FoxIO, the innovator behind the JA4™ and JA4+™ network fingerprinting standards, announced a partnership to help security teams identify threats in increasingly complex network environments without decryption.

Most network traffic today is encrypted, which is good for privacy, but it creates a blind spot for people trying to keep networks safe. Threats can hide in plain sight, simply by blending into the flood of encrypted connections passing through a network every second.

This partnership is designed to close that gap. Enea is integrating FoxIO’s JA4+ fingerprinting technology directly into its Qosmos ixEngine®, giving Enea customers the option to have an additional integrated feed of real-time network threat intelligence.

A simple way to think about it: you do not need to open a package to learn something about what is inside. Its size, weight, shape, and how it is wrapped already tell you a lot. JA4+ works the same way with network traffic, it looks at outward characteristics like timing, sequence, and structure to build a consistent “fingerprint” for each connection. Traffic with a similar fingerprint tends to come from the same kind of application, device, or behavior, even though its actual contents stay completely hidden. That gives security teams a reliable way to spot something unusual, even as attackers continuously change their tactics.

For Enea customers, the result is faster threat detection, simpler visibility into applications and devices on the network, and stronger support for zero-trust and AI-driven security tools, all without any changes to their existing infrastructure or workflows.

Osvaldo Aldao, CTO at Enea

Modern security teams need faster tools for hunting threats and richer context about what is happening on their networks. By integrating FoxIO’s JA4+ fingerprints with Qosmos ixEngine’s proven traffic intelligence, we give our customers powerful complementing tools to detect threats faster, understand network behavior clearly, and strengthen AI-driven security analytics, all at scale.

John Althouse, Founder and CTO at FoxIO

Enea’s Qosmos ixEngine is widely trusted for delivering industry-leading network traffic intelligence. By bringing JA4+ fingerprinting into this ecosystem, we enable security teams to operationalize network fingerprinting as part of their everyday workflows. Together, FoxIO and Enea enable customers to recognize suspicious or anomalous network behavior earlier and respond more effectively.
