Veon-owned Beeline Uzbekistan announced that it has signed two MoUs with data centre operator DataVolt that it says will boost development of Uzbekistan’s digital infrastructure.
Under the first MoU, which establishes agreed commercial terms, Beeline Uzbekistan will become a major tenant of DataVolt’s flagship TAS-1 data centre in Tashkent IT Park.
As an anchor tenant of TAS-1, Beeline Uzbekistan said it will gain access to substantial data centre capacity that will support continued expansion of its digital services portfolio and enable greater local hosting and processing of data.
The second, non-binding MoU establishes a framework for evaluating the potential joint development and operation of a potential data centre in Bukhara.
Together, the initiatives aim to increase availability of digital infrastructure, enhance access to cloud and AI services, strengthen data localization capabilities, and further position Uzbekistan as a leading digital hub for Central Asia – all of which also aligns with the Uzbek Government’s Digital Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, said Beeline Uzbekistan CEO Evgeniy Nastradin.
“Telecommunications networks are no longer just connecting people and devices. They are becoming platforms for distributing computing power and digital intelligence,” Nastradin said in a statement. “By developing world-class data centre infrastructure with DataVolt, we are creating the foundation for AI services, local data processing and digital innovation at scale.”
