Cirpack and Summa implementing VoLTE for Vodafone Polynésie

Cirpack Software and Summa Networks are deploying Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services for Vodafone Polynésie.

The agreement will allow Vodafone Polynésie to modernise its voice infrastructure and deliver a high-quality, standards-compliant VoLTE experience to its approximately 150,000 subscribers.

As mobile operators worldwide transition from legacy circuit-switched voice to all-IP architectures, VoLTE has become the standard for delivering HD voice, faster call setup and improved spectrum efficiency over 4G networks. For operators in the Pacific Islands, where network infrastructure must serve geographically dispersed populations across multiple islands, deploying VoLTE represents both a technical challenge and a strategic imperative.

Vodafone Polynésie, operated by Pacific Mobile Telecom (PMT), serves the French Polynesian market with 2G, 3G, and 4G services across five archipelagos. By deploying VoLTE, the operator will be able to offer its subscribers enhanced voice quality, faster call connection times, and simultaneous voice and data services - while preparing a clear evolution path toward future network generations.

The integrated CIRPACK Software - SUMMA Networks solution is specifically designed for regional mobile operators that require carrier-grade voice services without the complexity and cost of solutions built for large-scale public networks. The solution brings together:

Native VoLTE and VoWiFi services fully integrated within the LTE architecture, delivering HD voice quality and simultaneous voice and data capabilities.

Seamless subscriber data management across 2G, 3G, and 4G technologies, ensuring service continuity during the transition to all-IP voice.

Built-in security mechanisms, including IMS-AKA authentication, topology hiding and SIP DDoS protection, designed to safeguard voice communications.

Lightweight, virtualized deployments that reduce infrastructure complexity and operational costs, making VoLTE accessible for operators of all sizes.

Standards-based interoperability with existing network elements and a clear evolution path toward VoNR (Voice over New Radio) for future 5G deployments.

Javier Martín, CEO of Summa Networks, said: “By combining our mobile core platform with CIRPACK’s IMS telephony solution, we deliver a complete, integrated offering that enables the operator to modernize its voice services efficiently and cost-effectively.”
