Qatar’s National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) has launched a Cloud Computing Privacy Assessment Tool designed to help public and private sector organisations evaluate and strengthen their data protection practices as cloud adoption accelerates across the country.
The tool provides a structured framework through which organisations can assess current privacy controls, identify compliance gaps, and take corrective action against the requirements of Qatar’s Personal Data Privacy Protection Law. The initiative is led by the NCSA’s Personal Data Privacy Protection Department and is aimed at embedding privacy governance into operational practice rather than treating it as a retrospective compliance exercise.
The NCSA has highlighted that the rapid expansion of cloud, AI, and automation under Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030 has simultaneously widened the cyber risk landscape through growing interconnectivity, third-party dependencies, and cross-platform data exchange. The tool is intended to help organisations move toward proactive risk management as those exposures multiply.
