Vodafone Oman reaches 17% market share and 1.5 million subscribers

Vodafone Oman has reported approximately 17% market share and a total customer base of around 1.5 million as it marks four years of operations in the sultanate, following a year in which its customer base grew 46% and net revenues rose 66% compared to 2024.

The operator, which launched in March 2022 as Oman’s third licensed mobile network, completed the migration of more than 450,000 users from Friendi Mobile to its network during 2025 — the largest single contributor to its subscriber growth — while maintaining 5G network coverage across more than 99% of Oman’s populated areas.

Enterprise performance was a standout, with enterprise service revenues growing 321% and the enterprise customer base expanding 249% in 2025, reflecting accelerating demand for managed digital and connectivity services beyond basic mobile access. On the digital side, the My Vodafone App generated over 64% of total revenue in 2025, with app-based revenue growing 25% year-on-year and more than 1.2 billion in-app interactions recorded through the year. The app holds 100% market penetration by download count with more than 4 million downloads and was recognised as the Best Digital Storefront in the Middle East for 2025.

Vodafone Oman expanded its retail footprint by more than 75% to over 75 stores and eStores, supported by more than 5,500 sales points nationwide. The operator also launched a PKI-enabled eSIM aligned with Oman’s national digital authentication infrastructure, and introduced the Raseed usage-visibility product and an expanded 5G broadband portfolio under the Makani brand.

CEO Eng. Bader Al Zidi said the focus in 2025 shifted from market entry to demonstrating consistent delivery at scale across network performance, service quality, and customer experience.
