The Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) has launched a month-long consumer awareness campaign to promote understanding of telecom rights and protections. Expanding beyond World Consumer Rights Day, the initiative aims to build trust, improve service quality, and ensure fair treatment across the sector.
The campaign includes nationwide outreach targeting diverse groups such as students, market workers, transport operators, and public institutions. It focuses on educating consumers about key rights including service quality, accurate billing, data privacy, and access to complaint resolution mechanisms.
LTA also highlighted new Consumer Protection Regulations and emphasized its role as a neutral regulator overseeing telecom operators. The initiative reflects Liberia’s push to align with global standards while addressing local awareness gaps and strengthening accountability.
