Globe strengthens fiber, enterprise services to drive PH digital economy

Telecommunications company Globe Telecom is strengthening its role in advancing the country’s digital economy by prioritizing fiber connectivity and enterprise solutions under the leadership of its President and CEO, Carl Cruz.

Building on strong growth momentum in recent years, the company has sharpened its strategic focus while maintaining disciplined execution. Globe said these efforts have resulted in higher data usage and improved data monetization, indicators that its network investments and service strategies are producing measurable results.

In 2025, Globe expanded its fiber subscriber base by 43 percent, raising its broadband customers to 2.1 million from 1.7 million the previous year. Affordable connectivity offerings such as GFiber Prepaid reached more than 820,000 subscribers by the end of the year.

Fiber connectivity now accounts for 91 percent of Globe’s total home broadband revenues, reflecting strong consumer adoption and trust in the service. The company said fiber technology plays a critical role in supporting digital learning for students, enabling businesses to run cloud-based and enterprise IT systems, and allowing remote workers to stay connected across cities and regions.

Cruz said Globe continues to anchor its transformation on clear priorities, performance, and accountability across the organization. Instead of competing primarily on price, the company focuses on network quality and customer experience.

“Customers only notice the network when it fails. Our goal is to make customer experience reliable and seamless,” Cruz said.

Globe is also seeing increased demand for its enterprise solutions through Globe Business, which provides companies with tools such as cloud platforms, artificial intelligence and automation solutions, and cybersecurity services to enhance operations and customer engagement.

The company’s enterprise innovations include API-enabled network capabilities like Number Verification APIs and the Bridge Alliance API Exchange, allowing businesses to develop secure digital services.

In 2025, corporate data revenues reached an all-time high of ₱20.7 billion, while Globe’s overall service revenues climbed to a record ₱165.1 billion.

Cruz emphasized that while mobile services remain a strong pillar of the business, the company sees its biggest growth opportunities in fiber infrastructure and enterprise connectivity.

“Mobile remains strong, but the real runway is in fiber and enterprise,” he said. “To lead in AI, digital services, and enterprise solutions, our fiber backbone must be strong.”

Globe said fiber remains central to its long-term strategy, supporting fiber-to-the-home expansion, enterprise connectivity, tower backhaul, and the growing demand for data driven by streaming services, cloud adoption, and artificial intelligence applications.

By sustaining its leadership in mobile services while accelerating fiber and enterprise growth, Globe aims to build a future-ready, multi-network ecosystem that will support the next wave of digital transformation in the Philippines.
