UK mobile operator O2 is offering customers with compatible handsets an upgrade to 5G standalone services at no extra cost, promising improved coverage in busy areas, longer battery life and faster speeds.
O2 says its 5G SA is available in more than 700 towns and cities. As well as the right device, customers also need a SIM purchased from 2024 onwards or an eSIM – if they need to update their SIM they can switch to an eSIM, also at no extra cost.
