According to the operator’s data provided by its press service, in total, about 2.4 million subscribers in the lifecell network have access to VoLTE.
«The operator records over 8.4 million VoLTE calls every day, which is 137% more than last year,» the company reported.
Thus, today almost a third of all voice traffic (29%) in the lifecell network is carried via 4G.
«Compared to January 2025, this indicator increased by 2.5 times. At the same time, the share of voice calls via 3G decreased to 46%, which is primarily due to the gradual shutdown of this technology in Ukrainian cities,» the mobile operator explained.
At the same time, VoLTE shows increased indicators in certain regions. Thus, in Cherkasy region, 50% of voice traffic is already carried via 4G, and the indicators are not much lower in Ivano-Frankivsk (49%), Kyiv (47%), and Rivne (45%) regions.
The number of VoLTE-compatible smartphones in the lifecell network is 4.5 million, which is 66% of all subscriber devices.
The company reminded that VoLTE calls on the lifecell network are available not only on smartphones, but also on smartwatches with eSIM support.
As dev.ua reported, the lifecell operator began the transition to voice over LTE in 2022. This is a technology that allows you to make voice calls based on high-speed 4G mobile internet.
