UAE-IX powered by DE-CIX is now technically capable of supporting 800 Gigabit Ethernet and offers 400 Gigabit Ethernet ports, making it the only Internet Exchange in the Middle East with such bandwidth. The exchange has over 110 networks connected, peak traffic exceeding 1 Tbps, and 6.6 Tbps of customer capacity.
New cloud on-ramps will provide direct access to Alibaba and Google clouds, complementing existing connections to Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud. The UAE-IX also offers enterprise-grade interconnection services, Cloud Exchange, and cloud routing to enhance low-latency, secure connectivity across the GCC.
DE-CIX CEO Ivo Ivanov highlighted its role as a critical aggregation point for network operators, cloud providers, and enterprises, while du’s CCO Karim Benkirane emphasized the exchange’s contribution to the Middle East’s digital ecosystem, reinforcing resilient, high-performance interconnection for businesses and consumers.
