Ericsson and specialized by stc sign MoU to advance mission critical connectivity

Ericsson and specialized by stc have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance mission-critical communication capabilities aimed at strengthening Saudi Arabia’s national public safety ecosystem.

The agreement, announced during the World Defense Show in Riyadh, combines specialized by stc’s nationwide digital infrastructure with Ericsson’s expertise in secure and high-availability network technologies. The collaboration focuses on enhancing communication capabilities for first responders, including police, ambulance services, civil protection and emergency management teams.

The initiative will support the deployment of reliable, real-time communication tools such as mission-critical push-to-talk and push-to-video services, AI-driven incident analytics and high-precision location services. By integrating Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and smart vehicle systems into unified communication platforms, the partnership aims to improve emergency coordination, accelerate response times and strengthen operational efficiency during critical situations.

As part of the MoU, both companies will conduct joint validation programmes and field trials designed to simulate high-demand emergency scenarios, ensuring secure and uninterrupted communication performance under pressure. The collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives by enhancing national resilience and supporting digital transformation across public safety infrastructure.

Khaled Aldharrab, Chief Executive Officer of specialized by stc, said the partnership represents an important step in advancing public safety capabilities through technology-driven solutions that improve coordination and strengthen emergency response readiness.

Håkan Cervell, President of Ericsson Saudi Arabia, noted that combining Ericsson’s secure network expertise with specialized by stc’s infrastructure will help enable next-generation mission-critical communications and support first responders with reliable, resilient connectivity when it matters most.
