Bayobab, a next-generation digital infrastructure company and an MTN Group company, and Mozambican operator TMCEL have announced a strategic partnership to strengthen Mozambique’s international connectivity.
Specifically, TMCEL has selected Bayobab as the preferred provider to support and manage its international communication services, providing end-to-end management.
Under the agreement, TMCEL will leverage Bayobab’s global communication platforms, including international voice, international roaming and IPX, to deliver advanced, scalable and high-quality services for their consumers and enterprises. The collaboration will help people stay connected when calling internationally and enable seamless cross-border connectivity.
The launch is described as representing a significant milestone for Bayobab’s partnership strategy, which aims to support African operators with the same level of care and capability provided across the Bayobab’s footprint.
Mazen Mroué, CEO of MTN Group Digital Infrastructure, says this partnership with TMCEL is “a powerful example of how MTN Digital Infrastructure [aka Bayobab] is extending its scale and capabilities to empower African operators.” He explains: “By extending our global platforms to support TMCEL in Mozambique, we are helping improve the everyday connectivity experience while enabling innovation, growth, and digital inclusion for millions.”
TMCEL Chairman Mahomed Mussá says: “By leveraging Bayobab’s global platforms and expertise, we are strengthening TMCEL’s ability to deliver world-class voice and roaming services to customers.”
