Jordan’s Alefredo EdTech acquires UK's Tutor House in US$600,000 deal

Alefredo EdTech, a Jordan-based education technology startup, has acquired Tutor House, a UK-based online tutoring platform, in a transaction valued at $600,000.

The deal is primarily structured as shares in Alefredo Holding Company, alongside additional strategic and performance-based considerations. Through the acquisition, Alefredo strengthens its presence in the UK education market while reinforcing Jordan’s position as a regional hub for education technology.

Tutor House brings a network of more than 30,000 teachers serving over 15,000 students globally, significantly expanding Alefredo’s reach and capabilities in curriculum-aligned tutoring and live learning support.

Founded in 2020 by Ahmad Al Saif, Alefredo began as a used-books marketplace before evolving into a provider of digital learning resources, aptitude tests, and interactive study tools for international curricula, including British Edexcel, A Level, O Level, Cambridge, IB, and AP systems. The company expanded into the UAE in 2022 through Sheraa and has served 20,000+ customers across 16 countries.

According to Alefredo, the acquisition completes its end-to-end AI-enabled learning loop, integrating curriculum-native tutoring, live human support, assessments, analytics, and adaptive learning journeys. The deal also enables Alefredo to distribute its British curriculum learning resources to more than four million students in the UK.

Tutor House was founded in 2012 by Alex Dyer and was previously acquired in 2022 by oktopi.

The transaction comes amid growing consolidation in the regional edtech sector, as Jordanian startups increasingly pursue cross-border acquisitions to scale globally.
