Dialog Axiata announced that it has signed a partnership deal with SpaceX to resell its Starlink LEO satellite internet service to enterprises and underserved communities in Sri Lanka.
Dialog said the Starlink network will complement its terrestrial network footprint with seamless, high-performance connectivity in previously underserved regions, enabling them to leverage broadband to boost productivity, innovation and growth.
“By working with Starlink, we are accelerating our efforts to bridge the digital divide and empower businesses, institutions and communities across Sri Lanka,” said Dialog Axiata director and group CEO Supun Weerasinghe in a statement.
Dialog added that its enterprise customers will soon be able to access Starlink services through Dialog’s corporate solutions channels. Its Starlink offering will include installation, servicing, and maintenance.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) officially issued a telecoms licence to Starlink to offer services in the country in August 2024. Starlink launched commercial services in Sri Lanka in July this year.
