High-speed internet access is now available to more families and businesses in rural Sheboygan County.
The company announced the expansion of all its services to more than 3,500 homes and small businesses in previously unserved or underserved areas of Plymouth, Sheboygan Falls, Herman and Rhine.
“It’s vital that every part of Wisconsin gets that coverage they need, so that way we can enjoy northern Wisconsin and our lakes and all-around Wisconsin,” said State Sen. Devin LeMahieu, R-Oostburg. “So, thank you, Charter, Spectrum, for finishing this project.
Michael Beeck, owner of The Wreath Factory, said this expansion will help his business grow.
“We are already connected to our cable, and we will have high-speed internet here,” said Beeck. “It will help us function in our offices for billing and our retail part for collecting money and keeping the process going.”
Spectrum received nearly $168 million in federal funding to extend broadband to rural areas. The company is also investing an additional $500 million to provide high-speed internet to over 130,000 new homes and businesses across Wisconsin.
In Wisconsin in 2024, Charter extended its network to reach an additional 78,000 homes and small businesses, including 42,000 new locations reached through our rural construction initiative.
