MCIT holds Digital Skills Working Group meeting

Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has convened the second meeting of the Digital Skills Working Group (DSWG) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s digital ecosystem and advance national readiness under the Digital Agenda 2030. The Working Group provides a unified national platform that brings together government entities to coordinate digital skills initiatives and build a cohesive capability-development strategy.

Representatives attended from key ministries and agencies, including MCIT, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Social Development and Family, and the Ministry of Sports and Youth—which participated for the first time after its recent inclusion in the group.

Building on the outcomes of the previous meeting, members reviewed progress across sub-working groups focused on Digital Skills for Children and Youth, Digital Training and Development, and Digital Skills Frameworks. Discussions also centred on enhancing integration among national initiatives to ensure alignment, coherence, and efficient implementation. The goal is to develop a strategic foundation that supports long-term digital skills development and strengthens Qatar’s overall digital capabilities.
