Alshaya Group signs MoU with ITIDA to strengthen Egypt’s digital transformation and shared services growth

Alshaya Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) during the inaugural Global Offshoring Summit 2025, held under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly. The agreement reinforces Alshaya Group’s commitment to advancing Egypt’s digital transformation and expanding its investment in the nation’s ICT and shared services sectors.

The MoU outlines collaboration in operations management, IT and knowledge services, engineering, and research and development, with a strong focus on talent development and digital capability building. Through ITIDA’s “IT Skills” portal, the partnership will facilitate recruitment, training, and upskilling of Egyptian professionals to support Alshaya’s growing regional operations.

John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group, emphasized Egypt’s strategic importance, stating: “This milestone marks an important step in enhancing our shared services and nurturing exceptional Egyptian talent in technology and operations. We are proud to expand our presence in Egypt and contribute to its vision of a thriving digital economy.”

ITIDA officials welcomed the partnership, highlighting that it demonstrates international confidence in Egypt’s ICT ecosystem and workforce. The collaboration builds on Alshaya Group’s Cairo-based Contact and Technology Services Centre, launched in 2024, which supports operations across 16 regional markets. Over the next two years, the Group plans to create 400 new jobs for Egyptian nationals as it expands the centre’s capacity.

Operating in Egypt since 2006, Alshaya Group manages global retail brands including H&M, Starbucks, Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, and American Eagle. The partnership with ITIDA further strengthens the company’s role in supporting Egypt’s vision to become a regional digital and outsourcing hub.
