The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), in collaboration with Ignite – National Technology Fund, has launched two landmark initiatives: the Prime Minister’s Cloud Enablement Programme for Startups and the Pakistan Startup Fund (PSF). These efforts mark a major step toward realizing Pakistan’s vision of a knowledge-driven digital economy.
The Cloud Enablement Programme aims to equip startups with cloud-based infrastructure, training, and digital tools, enabling them to innovate and scale efficiently. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Startup Fund will provide financial support and global market access to young entrepreneurs, helping them convert high-potential ideas into impactful solutions.
IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja stated that the initiatives align with the Prime Minister’s Digital Nation agenda, emphasizing the government’s goal to make Pakistan a competitive player in global technology. She added that programs like BridgeStart Pakistan further enhance opportunities for international exposure and collaboration.
Ignite CEO Rafique Ahmed Burriro noted that the combined strength of these initiatives lies in offering startups a comprehensive support structure—infrastructure, funding, and visibility—to fuel long-term innovation and sustainability.
The announcement also coincides with growing foreign interest in Pakistan’s digital sector, as Chinese satellite internet firms Galaxy Space and Shanghai Space explore market entry, reinforcing Pakistan’s rising profile as a regional technology hub.
