Oman Data Park (ODP), the Sultanate’s leading managed services and cloud solutions provider, has officially launched the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Secondary Dedicated Region in Wilayat Ibri, in partnership with ITHCA Group and Oracle. The new facility marks a major milestone in Oman’s digital transformation and strengthens the nation’s position as a regional leader in sovereign cloud technology.
The Ibri Secondary Dedicated Region mirrors ODP’s Primary OCI Region in Muscat, connected via redundant 10Gbps high-speed links that ensure low-latency, high-availability, and full disaster recovery capabilities. This dual-region setup enables enterprises and government institutions to maintain business continuity, data sovereignty, and regulatory compliance while accessing over 200 Oracle Cloud services, spanning IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
These services empower organizations to deploy AI, ML, and analytics workloads, build cloud-native applications, and implement automated disaster recovery systems — all while keeping data securely within Oman’s borders.
Eng. Maqbool Al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Data Park, stated:
“The launch of the OCI Secondary Dedicated Region in Ibri is a game-changer for Oman’s digital landscape. It enhances national resilience, supports government and enterprise innovation, and strengthens Oman’s standing as a regional digital hub.”
Eng. Said Al Mandhari, CEO of ITHCA Group, added:
“This milestone reflects a shared vision of public–private collaboration to build a smarter, more connected Oman. Our partnership with ODP and Oracle establishes a strong foundation for secure, AI-ready government and business services.”
Aligned with Oman Vision 2040, the initiative supports the nation’s goals of economic diversification, technological innovation, and secure digital transformation. The dual-region model ensures automatic failover, real-time data replication, and globally compliant cybersecurity standards, offering unmatched reliability to Omani enterprises.
This project builds on ODP’s long-standing collaboration with Oracle to bring world-class cloud infrastructure with localized expertise and data residency, ensuring Oman’s leadership in the region’s digital economy.
