CityFibre doubles connection rate in record quarter

CityFibre has reported its rate of customer connections almost doubled in the third quarter of 2025, hitting 108,000 compared to 58,000 in Q2 – a new record for the UK’s largest independent full fibre platform.

The company now has around 730,000 connections, with growth boosted by ISP partners. Sky launched across CityFibre’s nationwide network in July, joining an ISP line-up that reaches around half of the UK broadband market.

CityFibre has also completed its 10Gb XGS-PON upgrade ahead of schedule and launched a 5.5GB wholesale product, which it says cements its position as the wholesale provider of choice.

CEO Simon Holden said the business had reached “an inflection point,” adding: “Our ISP partners are making the most of CityFibre’s market-leading services. With our recent financing, we have the firepower to significantly expand our reach through acquisitions.”

Revenue in Q3 2025 rose to £43 million from £34 million a year earlier, with annualised run rate at £172 million, up 26% year-on-year. Adjusted EBITDA hit £7.6 million, more than five times higher than Q3 2024, and now running at £30 million annually.

The results follow CityFibre’s £2.3 billion financing package announced in July, combining £500 million in new equity, a £960 million debt expansion and an £800 million accordion facility, intended to drive further market consolidation and network expansion.
