America Movil central American subsidiary Claro CENAM signed an agreement with Proximus Global to support the monetisation and security of its application-to-person (A2P) messaging services across Latin America.
The deal will see Claro CENAM deploy Proximus Global’s 365squared technology to safeguard its messaging ecosystem. The operator said the partnership will help drive growth in A2P services while tackling fraud, such as spam, smishing campaigns, scams, and artificially inflated traffic (AIT), that undermine trust and revenue.
The A2P messaging market in Latin America is forecast to generate US$5 billion in revenue by 2030, making it a prime target for bad actors. By working with Proximus Global – which combines the international capabilities of BICS, Telesign and Route Mobile – Claro CENAM aims to ensure that businesses using legitimate SMS routes are protected and end-users continue to receive reliable and secure messaging services.
“This aligns perfectly with what Proximus Global brings to the table: a powerful combination of global scale, competitive services, and built-in value-adds like world-class security and revenue protection,” said Ben Vandermeulen, Chief Revenue Officer at Proximus Global.
Tonio Ellul, CEO of 365squared, added: “Protecting operator revenue is at the core of what we do. With Claro CENAM, we’re proud to bring our advanced A2P firewall and analytics technology to the table – ensuring that every message is legitimate, every route secure, and every opportunity to monetise legitimate traffic is taken.”
