Globo, Brazil’s largest broadcaster, launched its first pilot DTV+ (TV 3.0) station in Jardim Botânico, Rio de Janeiro, during its 60th anniversary celebrations.
The station serves as a testbed for technologies behind Brazil’s next-generation digital TV system, ahead of its commercial rollout planned for the 2026 Soccer World Cup.
MPEG-H Audio is the audio standard for DTV+. It enables immersive and personalised sound, such as choosing different commentators or emphasizing stadium crowd noise during sports.

Provides engineers, manufacturers, and content creators a live broadcast signal to test equipment and experiences.

The pilot phase runs through 2025, refining the system with user and technical feedback. Nationwide commercial rollout will begin in 2026, starting in major cities.

In related news, Enensys Technologies has announced that Record Sao Paulo, the network’s main station, has selected Enensys Technologies as one of the Transport Core supplier for its DTV+ “tests” throughout its Brazilian Reseller, Avicom Engenharia. Enensys DTV+ Transport Core covers the DTV+ signalling and Route (multiplexer) component called Mediacast ATSC as well as the broadcast gateway (scheduler), SmartGate ATSC which encapsulates Route streams into STLTP, supporting full MIMO, LDM, and PLP configurations. This solution will help Record Sao Paulo to setup an end-to-end DTV+ broadcast chain designed to enable enhanced picture and sound quality, interactive services, robust reception, and future-ready spectrum efficiency across Record TV’s network.
On August 13, 2025, Record Sao Paulo reached an important milestone in the implementation of this new technological solution, an essential part of DTV+, when the system was delivered after careful planning, manufacturing processes, integration testing, and significant synergy between the work teams.
