Unitel said it strengthened its network in May 2025 by expanding its voice and data services using 3G, 4G and 5G technologies in several Angolan provinces.
Key network expansions include the introduction of 4G coverage in the municipalities of Leua and Mongua, the implementation of 3G coverage in the municipality of Marimba, as well as 5G network expansion in the municipality of Cazenga.
Currently, 2G covers 75 percent of municipalities and 57.7 percent of communes, 3G reaches 69 percent of municipalities and 50.6 percent of communes, 4G is available in 55.8 percent of municipalities and 40.3 percent of communes, and 5G is present in 6.1 percent of municipalities and 3.9 percent of communes.
