Slovak national telecommunications regulator RU said it has completed an auction of spectrum in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1,500 MHz, 2,100 MHz, 2,600 MHz FDD and 2,600 MHz TDD frequency bands. The successful bidders will pay EUR 506.073 million for the frequencies. The starting price totaled EUR 363 million. The auction has run for more than a month. Operators will be able to use the frequency resources for 20 years.
All four operators acquire spectrum
In the 800 MHz band, Slovak Telekom will be allocated the 791 - 801 MHz / 832 - 842 MHz bands (EUR 69.7 million), Orange Slovakia will receive the 801 – 811 MHz / 842 - 852 MHz bands (also EUR 69.7 million). O2 Slovakia will be able to use 811 – 821 MHz / 852 - 862 MHz bands (EUR 71.4 million).
In the 900 MHz band, Orange will get the 880 – 890 MHz / 925 – 935 MHz bands (EUR 34 million), O2 will use the 890 – 900 MHz / 935 – 945 MHz bands (EUR 35.97 million), Swan (4ka) has got the 900 – 905 MHz / 945 – 950 MHz bands for EUR 17.11 million, and Slovak Telekom has acquired the 905 – 915 MHz / 950 – 960 MHz bands for EUR 35.7 million.
In the 1,500 MHz band, 4ka has got the 1,432 – 1,452 MHz band for EUR 6 million. Orange has purchased the 1452 – 1472 MHz band for EUR 6.031 million. O2 has obtained the 1,472 – 1,492 MHz band for EUR 6.031 million. Slovak Telekom has received the 1,492 – 1,512 MHz band for EUR 6 million.
In the 2,100 MHz spectrum, Orange has acquired the 1920 – 1935 MHz / 2110 – 2125 MHz bands for EUR 23.44 million. Slovak Telekom has purchased the 1,935 – 1,955 MHz / 2,125 – 2,145 MHz bands for EUR 30.044 million. O2 has obtained the 1,955 – 1,970 MHz / 2,145 – 2,160 MHz bands for EUR 22.81 million. 4ka has got the 1,970 – 1,980 MHz / 2,160 – 2,170 MHz bands for EUR 15.6 million.
In the 2,600 MHz FDD spectrum, O2 has got the 2,500 – 2,520 MHz / 2,620 – 2,640 MHz bands for EUR 13.2 million. 4ka has obtained the 2,520 – 2,530 MHz / 2,640 – 2,650 MHz bands for EUR 6.724 million. Slovak Telekom has acquired the 2,530 – 2,550 MHz / 2,650 – 2,670 MHz bands for EUR 13.2 million. Orange has purchased the 2,550- 2,570 MHz / 2,670 – 2,690 MHz bands for EUR 13.21 million.
In the 2,600 MHz TDD spectrum, Slovak Telekom has acquired the 2,575-2,615 MHz band for EUR 10.2 million.
