Nokia has signed a major agreement with Vodafone Qatar to lead a comprehensive nationwide network modernization aimed at delivering faster, more secure, and highly adaptable 5G services across the country. This expanded partnership will enable Vodafone Qatar to enhance network capacity, reduce latency, and accelerate the deployment of innovative services through automation and strengthened security.
Amid surging demand in Qatar’s rapidly growing digital economy, where the ICT sector is projected to grow at 8.5% annually through 2030, Nokia’s technology solutions will transform Vodafone’s network with intelligent broadband access, advanced enterprise services via 5G slicing, and scalable infrastructure ready for future digital applications.
Nokia’s multi-cloud core software—including Packet Core, Converged Charging, and Networks Data Analytics Function—will bring cloud-native automation, agility, and scalability to Vodafone Qatar’s multi-access core network. Additionally, Nokia Digital Operations software will drive the operator’s journey toward autonomous networks with end-to-end orchestration, AI-driven assurance, and 5G slicing automation to ensure rapid service delivery and reliability.
Sheikh Hamad Abdulla Jassim Al-Thani, CEO of Vodafone Qatar, emphasized the company’s commitment to digital transformation aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, noting that the partnership with Nokia enables greater agility and responsiveness through integrated fiber, mobile, and cloud capabilities.
