The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) showcased the Kingdom’s experience in digital transformation and smart city development during its participation in Saudi events at Expo 2025 Osaka, highlighting national efforts to adopt data and AI technologies to enhance service efficiency and achieve sustainable development, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the field.
Deputy Director of the National Information Center at SDAIA Dr. Mishari Almishari affirmed that the Kingdom is steadily advancing toward a fully integrated digital society, guided by Saudi Vision 2030, which positions digital transformation as a key pillar of national development.
He noted that the establishment of SDAIA in 2019 marked a pivotal shift, leading this transformation through three main bodies: the National Information Center (NIC), the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI), and the National Data Management Office (NDMO). These efforts have positioned the Kingdom as a leader among data- and AI-driven economies, with SDAIA serving as the national authority for data and AI regulation and development.
Dr. Almishari highlighted SDAIA’s role in supporting smart city systems through initiatives such as the National Smart C Platform, the Smart Riyadh Operations Center, and its backing of the innovation ecosystem via training camps, incubators, accelerators, and national hackathons.
SDAIA’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to establishing itself as a global leader in developing AI solutions with human impact and in building a smarter, more inclusive digital future.
