Vodafone Portugal has started offering exclusive sales of eSIM cards on board TAP flights, allowing passengers to always be connected upon arrival at their destinations, in advance, conveniently and simply. Digital and dematerialized cards, which allow access to the mobile network in the destination country, are also on sale on the TAP website and app, thus enabling purchase throughout the entire travel cycle - before, during and after the flight.
On board, purchases can be made on TAP's entertainment platform, available on more than 30 aircraft. By connecting to TAP's Wi-Fi on the plane, passengers scan a QR code with their mobile device, which takes them to a page where they can select their destination. Once the purchase is made on board, passengers will receive one hour of free internet access during the flight that they can use, for example, to install the eSIM on their device, regardless of their telecommunications operator.
This offer is initially available for Portugal, Europe, Brazil, Canada and the United States of America. The aim is to gradually cover as many destinations operated by TAP as possible, taking advantage of the international reach of the Vodafone Group's mobile network. With this innovative partnership, Vodafone Portugal and TAP complement their missions of connecting people, offering even more digital and simple solutions and ensuring greater comfort and convenience for their customers.
