French commercial broadcaster TF1 says it has quickly surpassed the initial goals it set when it signed up to distribute its services within Netflix’s environment.
The launch of TF1 on Netflix kicked off three months ago. TF1 says the hours viewed on its TF1+ streamer have increased by 30% by comparison with the same period in 2025, which validated the strategy of expanding its distribution through Netflix.
According to TF1, 87% of viewers it hae surveyed see the tie-up as a positive initiative and 79% appreciate its practical appeal.
Following the launch, the programming of TF1+ has been directly available via the Netflix app, with users able to search and receive recommendations of content from Netflix within the TF1+ experience.
TF1 said that following the integration of its own content within Netflix’s discovery tools, viewing of TF1 content by the public using the service had increased by 140% between July and August. Nearly one Netflix subscriber in two had watched at least one TF1+ programme during the launch period.
Top 10
TF1 said that several of its programmes had found themselves among the top 10 viewed on Netflix, including Secret Story, Koh-Lanta All Stars, La Villa des Cœurs Brisés, La Cible and football matches involving the French national team.
Claire Basini, Deputy Managing Director of the TF1 Group in charge of B2C, said that by making TF1+ content accessible in a new environment, the broadcaster was expanding its content’s reach to new audiences and creating fresh opportunities for advertisers.
“A 30% increase in hours viewed, the success of our entire programming lineup, and the incremental reach gained for advertising campaigns all point to a very strong momentum. This is a significant step forward that benefits audiences, brands, and French creative content,” she said.
Olivier Abecassis, Senior Director of Business Development for Netflix France said that the success of the venture had been driven by Netflix’s discovery experience, the complementary nature of the pair’s respective catalogues, and the strength of TF1’s programming.
