4G coverage almost 100 percent in Malaysia

Malaysians will continue to have access to quality communication networks, with 4G coverage in populated areas reaching 99.75 per cent in July.

"Through the National Digital Network Plan (Jendela), Internet access continues to be expanded, especially in rural and remote areas," said Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil.

He was speaking at the launch of the 13th Malaysia Plan Public Discourse Conference: Direction and Challenges here yesterday.

He said the implementation of Jendela Phase 2 was being expanded to underserved areas, covering 2,700 locations.

He said the 13th Malaysia Plan was a development agenda that required shared commitment from all stakeholders.

"The government sets the policies and direction, while universities, industry, the media and society play a role in translating them into actions that benefit the people."

He added that the government remained open to constructive views and criticism, with the focus on identifying implementation gaps and finding practical solutions.
