The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) held an international webinar titled “Shaping Tomorrow's Radio Spectrum Ecosystem,” bringing together a distinguished group of global experts in the field of radio spectrum management. The webinar aimed to highlight key trends and developments in spectrum management, explore the development and implementation of radio spectrum strategies, the role of research and development in the field, and share Saudi Arabia’s approach to radio spectrum management at the national level.
The webinar featured the participation of Eng. Mohammad Al-Janoobi, the Radio Spectrum Deputy Governor at CST; CST Deputy Governor for Strategy and Digitalization Mr. Naif Sheshah; Deputy to the BR Director at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Ms. Diana Tomimura; Group Director, Radio Spectrum at Ofcom Mr. David Willis; Associate Administrator of the Office of Spectrum Management at the U.S. National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Mr. Charles Cooper; Radio Spectrum Advisory Group President at CST Dr. Sami Alhamidi and President and CEO of Federated Wireless Mr. Iyad Tarazi. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Faisal Hamady, Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
It provided a comprehensive overview of the spectrum management landscape, covering global trends, the latest innovations in research and development, and the building and implementation of national strategies and the global dimension of spectrum management. The webinar also addressed the role of regulatory frameworks in accelerating digital transformation and stimulating economic growth, while highlighting the launch of Radio Spectrum Strategy of Saudi Arabia 2030.
The webinar coincided with CST’s launch of Radio Spectrum Strategy of Saudi Arabia 2030, building on its ongoing efforts to manage radio spectrum as a national resource and reflecting its continued commitment to regulating and optimizing its use.
