Digicel Samoa said that it has further expanded its wireless network coverage on Savai’i – the country’s largest and highest island – with the launch of a new tower in Asau on the western side of the island.
Earlier this year, Digicel Samoa launched two new towers in Samalaeulu and Falelima on Savai'i.
Digicel Samoa said it identified Asau as a key centre in Savai’i’s western region, making it a priority for additional network infrastructure to support growing customer demand and enhance coverage and reliability.
Digicel Samoa CEO Karl Vizvary said the new tower builds on the telco’s broader network investment programme, which has seen WST$22 million (US$7.9 million) invested in network infrastructure over the past 18 months, including the rollout of additional 4G and 5G sites across Upolu and Savai'i.
"This investment is about more than just infrastructure – it’s about connecting communities, supporting businesses and giving more people access to the opportunities that digital connectivity provides,” Vizvary said in a statement.
