Telenet has expanded its entertainment offering in Belgium by allowing customers to subscribe to HBO Max directly through the operator and pay for the service on their Telenet bill.
The Belgian operator says it is the first telecom provider in the country to integrate HBO Max into its billing platform. The HBO Max app was already available on the Telenet TV box, but from today customers can also activate, manage and pay for subscriptions through MyTelenet.
Customers can choose between all three HBO Max tiers: Basic with ads at €6.99 per month, Standard at €10.99 and Premium at €15.99. Subscriptions can be upgraded, downgraded or cancelled through the MyTelenet website or app.
“Today, customers increasingly combine traditional television with streaming services. We want to offer them maximum flexibility without compromising on convenience,” said Stijn Eulaerts, VP Premium Entertainment at Telenet.
Tim Beudel, Director Affiliate Sales Benelux at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the agreement would make HBO Max more accessible to viewers in Belgium and help drive the streaming service’s continued growth in the country.
The integration comes as Telenet continues to position its TV platform as an aggregator of traditional channels and third-party streaming services.
HBO Max’s Belgian offering includes HBO Original series, films, documentaries and Warner Bros. Discovery franchises. The service will also carry the forthcoming Harry Potter television series, which is scheduled to premiere at Christmas.
