Liquid Intelligent Technologies has introduced a K300 Liquid Home broadband package in Zambia and enhanced its 4G MiFi and router offers as it looks to lower the cost of internet access and expand connectivity options for households, students, entrepreneurs and small businesses.
The new package covers Liquid's fibre-to-the-home services, while the expanded 4G portfolio provides alternatives for customers requiring more flexible connectivity outside a fixed broadband connection.
Liquid is also adjusting speeds across its fibre packages, positioning the changes around affordability, network performance and customer choice.
K300 package lowers entry point for fibre broadband
The new K300 Liquid Home package is designed to reduce the financial barrier to accessing Liquid's high-speed fixed broadband services.
Liquid Intelligent Technologies Zambia CEO Leah Nakazwe Kooma said affordability remains one of the main obstacles to wider internet adoption in the country.
"We are very excited to introduce the new K300 Liquid Home package. Our goal is to create opportunities for more Zambians to access quality internet services while continuing to grow in the areas where we operate," Kooma said.
Alongside the new entry-level package, Liquid is increasing speeds across its existing fibre offerings.
The source does not specify the speeds included with the K300 package, the previous and upgraded speeds of other fibre plans, data allowances or whether the K300 price is promotional or permanent.
Enhanced 4G packages extend connectivity beyond fibre
Liquid is complementing its fixed broadband offering with enhanced 4G packages delivered through MiFi devices and routers.
The mobile connectivity options are intended for customers who require internet access beyond a fixed home connection or who prefer a wireless broadband service.
This gives Liquid a combination of fibre and 4G products targeting different connectivity requirements and budgets.
Details of the revised 4G packages, including pricing, speeds, data allowances and network coverage, were not provided in the source.
Entrepreneurs and students among target users
Liquid is positioning the revised portfolio for a broad range of users, with particular emphasis on households, students, entrepreneurs and small businesses.
For entrepreneurs, the company sees affordable connectivity as increasingly important for activities such as marketing products online, communicating with customers and managing digital business operations.
For students, lower-cost broadband can improve access to online learning materials, research resources and virtual education.
According to Liquid, customer feedback contributed to the package changes, with the operator focusing on increasing capacity, affordability and network performance.
The company said it will continue investing in network capacity, customer experience and service innovation as part of its activities in Zambia.
Fibre and 4G support different access requirements
The combination of fibre and wireless broadband gives Liquid two different routes for expanding internet access.
Fibre can provide higher-capacity fixed connectivity where Liquid's infrastructure reaches homes and businesses, while 4G MiFi and router products can provide greater flexibility for customers outside those fixed connections.
However, the announcement does not disclose whether Liquid is expanding the geographic footprint of either its fibre or 4G networks as part of the new offers. The changes therefore primarily represent a commercial and service enhancement based on the information currently available, rather than a confirmed network coverage expansion.
