Disney+ and DAZN will share French coverage of LaLiga from the 2026/27 season, ending beIN Sports’ long run with the Spanish championship.
Disney confirmed earlier this month that all 380 LaLiga EA Sports matches each season will stream live on ESPN on Disney+ in France from 2026/27 to 2028/29, with French-language coverage included as part of customers’ existing Disney+ subscription.
DAZN will also carry the full competition over the same three-season cycle, creating a co-broadcast arrangement for LaLiga in France until 2029.
The change marks a significant loss for beIN Sports, which has held French LaLiga rights since its launch in the market in 2012. beIN’s current deal covers the competition through the 2025/26 season.
For Disney, the agreement adds another major football property to ESPN on Disney+ in Europe. The streamer already carries LaLiga in the UK and Ireland on a partial basis and has secured all matches in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland from 2026/27. It is also expanding its wider sports offer through L’Équipe TV in France, UEFA Women’s Champions League rights across Europe, and selected US sports.
Karl Holmes, General Manager, Disney+ EMEA, said: “We’re excited to bring LALIGA to all Disney+ France customers in a fresh new way. LALIGA has a strong connection with football fans in France, with many French players making their mark in Spain alongside iconic clubs and unforgettable rivalries, making it a great addition.”
DAZN’s said the LaLiga deal would further strengthen its French football proposition, alongside Serie A, Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana, Copa del Rey, Eredivisie, Jupiler Pro League and its distribution of Ligue 1+.
LaLiga President Javier Tebas said the Disney agreement was “another important milestone” in the league’s global relationship with The Walt Disney Company, following deals in the United States, the UK and Ireland, and the Nordics.ah Bananas. The NBA and NHL will also be available in selected markets from the 2026/27 season.
