SK Telecom has published its inaugural "Information Security White Paper 2025" in a strategic move to fortify customer trust amid a rapidly shifting cyber threat landscape.
On the 1st, SK Telecom announced that the official document, which outlines its comprehensive personal information protection activities and defense frameworks, has been made available on its official website.
The publication is the culmination of a company-wide review of SKT’s information security systems initiated last year. According to an SKT representative, it serves as the first official report transparently documenting the key initiatives and achievements the company has driven to prevent recurring breaches and restore public confidence.
The white paper is structured into three core pillars: Information Security Governance, Information Security Architecture & Technology, and Personal Information Protection. It is designed to provide stakeholders with an intuitive, comprehensive overview of the operator's operational direction across all facets of information security and privacy.
A key feature of the report is its approach to cybersecurity, framing it not merely as an isolated technical challenge but as a cohesive, "enterprise-wide execution framework." It also offers strategic perspectives on the standards and structural criteria corporations must adopt to counter modern digital threats.
Leveraging the release of this white paper, SKT plans to continuously elevate its security thresholds to ensure customers can experience a tangibly safer digital environment.
"Information security must evolve into a resilient architecture capable of continuously verifying and countering ever-changing threats," stated Lee Jong-hyun, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Head of the Integrated Security Center at SK Telecom. "Through responsible and transparent execution, we will build an information security framework that our customers and society can inherently trust."
