CST launches 2nd capacity building program for Yemen’s MTIT staff

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), in collaboration with the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), has launched the 2nd edition of its capacity building program for the Yemen’s Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology (MTIT) staff. In the presence of Yemen’s MTIT Minister, H.E. Dr. Shadi Saleh Basurra, and CST Governor, H.E. Eng. Haitham AlOhali. The program aims to develop and qualify specialists, enhance their technical and professional capabilities, and transfer CST’s experience in digital regulatory maturity and the Kingdom’s leadership in international indicators. It also includes sharing CST’s expertise in supervising related sectors, developing policies and regulatory frameworks, promoting knowledge transfer in governance and digital transformation, improving institutional efficiency in project management, and fostering investment and innovation to support the development of the ICT sector and boost its readiness for future challenges.

The program provides an overview of CST’s regulatory efforts and experiences that have earned it recognition as one of the world’s leading regulatory authorities. It also highlights CST’s strategy for regulating related sectors, its regulatory tools, key methodologies and innovative practices. The program includes a range of specialized training tracks such as: digital regulations and policies, governance and regulatory compliance, user protection, quality of telecommunications services and infrastructure security, radio spectrum, strategic planning and institutional performance, project management, digital transformation, corporate communications, and digital marketing. The program also sheds light on CST’s contributions and efforts at the international level.

Following the success of the first edition, which trained 32 participants from various entities, the second edition targets 42 participants, supporting the development of Yemeni talent and strengthening the sector’s ability to keep up with the sector’s developments and enhance the quality of provided services.

SDRPY continues to support the Yemeni people by implementing a wide range of development projects and initiatives across various governorates in Yemen. These efforts include education, healthcare, water, energy, transportation, agriculture, and fisheries, while also enhancing the capabilities of government institutions and delivering broader development programs.
