FanConnect has announced a partnership with Extreme Networks integrating FanConnect’s IPTV platform with Extreme Fabric Attach to automate network provisioning for large venue IPTV deployments. FanConnect media players, including the FC5 and FC6, automatically identify themselves to compatible Extreme switches running the Extreme Fabric Engine Operating System, allowing network administrators to apply preconfigured policies that provision IPTV devices without manual device-by-device setup.
The integration also surfaces switch and connection data — including switch model, port details, connection speed, and device identification — within the FanConnect CMS platform.
“To meet expectations for modern fan experiences, venues need full visibility and control across large, complex environments,” says Chuck Brooks, Director of Ecosystems and Alliances, Extreme Networks. “By integrating FanConnect devices with Extreme Fabric, large venues can simplify network management and eliminate the need for manual configuration, streamlining everyday operations while making new deployments fast, easy, and secure.”
“Large venue deployments can involve hundreds or thousands of connected devices, so automation is becoming increasingly important for operational efficiency,” says Brett Crossley, VP of Revenue, FanConnect. “This collaboration with Extreme Networks allows our customers to automate more of their IPTV deployment and have more transparency into network information from the FanConnect CMS.”
FanConnect and Extreme Networks plan to expand the partnership with additional authentication, device trust, and security capabilities.
